Our political system is broken.
PACs and super PACs funnel millions and millions of dollars into campaigns every election. And ever since the Citizens United Supreme Court case that allowed corporations to make political donations, they’ve used PACs to persuade politicians to protect their special interests at our expense.
Politics shouldn’t be about seedy behind-door deals and mysterious super PACs. Politics should be about helping the very people who elect their representatives into office.
That’s why Ro has refused to take even a penny from PACs. That way, we know Ro will always be accountable towards the people, not corporations or special interests.
Unfortunately, this makes our fundraising harder — and those corporations and their PACs know it. They assume that average, hard working people will get disheartened with this system and refuse to donate to the very people trying to change the system (like Ro).
But we have hope. We have hope because we know every day hard-working teachers, parents, laborers, nurses, and folks across the country chip in whatever they can to our progressive movement.
They believe in our work to pass Medicare for All, a Green New Deal, and a $15 minimum wage. And we believe in them, and in you.
Thanks for your support,
Team Ro
