- Former Wichita Mayor Bob Knight
“I’ve known Lyndy for the past 10 years through the City Council, Medical Mission in the Park and financial literacy programs. I have seen his volunteer work on the boards of Via Christi Health, Prairie View, and other non-profits. His efforts have included advocating for Medicaid expansion, helping organize a free health clinic with dozens of medical providers three years in a row, and working to improve access to mental health screening and treatment. With Lyndy Wells as Mayor, we will have a leader who cares about the success and health of every Wichitan."
- Former City Council Member Lavonta Williams
After first winning a seat on the Wichita City Council 40 years ago, Bob Knight went on to become the first Wichita mayor to be elected by popular vote. Knight continued to serve as our city's mayor for seven terms.
Lavonta Williams served for 10 years on the Wichita City Council representing the 1st District and twice served as the Vice-Mayor of Wichita. Williams said she is endorsing Lyndy because he has proven that he cares about improving the lives of Wichitans across the city.
Lyndy Wells responded that he was grateful for the support from Bob Knight and Lavonta Williams. “I am honored to have the endorsement of Former Mayor Bob Knight and his wife, Jane Knight," said Wells. “I have respected Lavonta Williams' leadership for many years and I am grateful for her confidence in my campaign.”
