Groups call for end to use of aborted fetal tissue in animal research ([link removed][UNIQID])
(Catholic News Service) Catherine Glenn Foster, President & CEO of Americans United for Life, said in response to a reporter’s question it is ethically impossible to seek informed consent from a woman undergoing an abortion to release the fetus for research. “In the abortion context, informed consent is different than for any other medical procedure,” Catherine Glenn Foster said, either before or after the abortion.

The Supreme Court Takes Up Abortion: What You Need to Know About June Medical Services v. Gee ([link removed][UNIQID])
(The Federalist Society) The U.S. Supreme Court’s October 2019 Term started off with a bang. In its first order following the long conference after the Justices’ summer break, the Court agreed to hear cross petitions from a Louisiana abortion provider called June Medical Services and the state of Louisiana stemming from a challenge to Louisiana’s admitting privileges law. The case, June Medical Services v. Gee, raises important issues concerning the future of abortion access and regulations in the United States, the correct application of Whole Women’s Health v. Hellerstedt, and perhaps even the continuing validity of Roe v. Wade.

The Abortion Bans Keep Coming. Even Anti-Abortion Groups Doubt They’ll Work. ([link removed][UNIQID])
(Mother Jones) Major anti-abortion organizations such as Americans United for Life have openly spoken out against these bans, arguing that they are not the best strategy to roll back abortion access. They are not likely to make it to the Supreme Court,” says Steven Aden, chief legal officer for Americans United for Life. “For that reason, we think there are other more productive means of the state expressing its respect for life.”

Media Mislead on Study about Self-Induced Abortion ([link removed][UNIQID])
(National Review) Contrary to researchers’ claims, there has been no widespread increase in unintended pregnancies or teen births in Texas or any other state that has cut taxpayer funding for Planned Parenthood. These latest reports claiming that there has been an increase in self-induced abortions are just the latest attempt to scare policymakers away from sound policies to protect the unborn. As always, pro-lifers would do well to stay the course.

These Health Violations At Illinois Abortion Facilities Will Make You Sick ([link removed][UNIQID])
(The Federalist) Legalizing abortion in America hasn’t removed the unsafe facilities but instead given women the idea that they’re receiving safe medical services when they often are not. It’s time to call this out.

Bernie’s Medicare-for-All Would Threaten Catholic Hospitals ([link removed][UNIQID])

(The American Conservative) In short, Senator Sanders’ healthcare ambitions would provide coverage at the expense of care. In going against the consciences of thousands of medical professionals and crushing the ambitions of many Christian medical hopefuls, his legislation horribly misses the mark. If the goal of the proposal is to give all Americans access to healthcare service, then it would be foolish to ignore the authoritarian impact it would have on those who do the providing.

Planned Parenthood uses third-party call service for 911, delays emergency care ([link removed][UNIQID])

(Life Site News) It is possible that Planned Parenthood was trying to avoid a public record of this incident by using an Internet-based line and routing through a third-party. Open records laws do not apply to private businesses, such as a call relay center. But this ruse did not work for Planned Parenthood because the call relay center contacted 911 so an ambulance could be dispatched. This created a record that was subject to public access.
