Bowman for Congress

Hey John, Jamaal here.

India Walton is in the final stretch of her race for the mayor of Buffalo — and in these last few days leading up to Election Day, we want to help boost her campaign resources and support so she can continue running a massively competitive campaign.

Early voting in Buffalo starts today, John, so that means India needs our support right now as votes are already being cast as you read this email in advance of Election Day on November 2. I am proud to join thousands of Buffalo voters in supporting India in her campaign for mayor of Buffalo. Please join me in supporting India's campaign by splitting a $3 donation today.

India Walton — a registered nurse and union organizer — won the Democratic primary for mayor of Buffalo in early June, leading her one step closer to becoming the city's first-ever socialist mayor, and the first socialist mayor of a large American city since 1960.

As a mother, union organizer, nurse, and leader, India knows the only way to truly solve Buffalo's issues is with bold, progressive, and intentional leadership — something that for the last 16 years, her incumbent opponent Byron Brown has failed to provide.

India plans to bring bold solutions to Buffalo such as permanently affordable housing, mental health responders, violence interruption programs, and worker-owned co-ops — unlike Brown who failed to provide any concrete solutions during the pandemic. Instead Brown has been closely connected to disgraced former Governor Andrew Cuomo while running a rose garden campaign and avoiding any debates with India.

As a Black woman, and a powerful progressive voice for our communities, India has constantly overcome instances of racism, sexism, and more in her fight to bring true representation to Buffalo for the first time in over five decades. And since her nomination, India has powered through waves of attacks from her opponent and even the Democratic establishment. These attacks are even as recent as earlier this week when NY Democratic Party Chair Jay Jacobs compared India to former KKK grand wizard David Duke while trying to justify why he hadn't endorsed India.

Right now Byron Brown is running a massively corporate-funded write-in campaign to stop India and the progressive movement from making it to office — so we need to seize the power of the grassroots and build a wave of support for India or else we may lose this chance at a historic win. Please join me in supporting India's campaign before Election day and chip in $3 to help support India's campaign today.

Peace and love, John. Let's do this!
