It's been an energizing month on the campaign trail, friend.
I've been out on the picket line regularly with the striking John Deere workers doing supply drops and standing in solidarity. Meanwhile, our team has made sure to visit local Democratic parties and community groups across the state.
Campaigning as a dad is challenging at times. I took breaks to spend time with my wife and kids when possible, and they've been the best field team when helping out on the road.
That said, meeting with Iowans across the state gives me energy, which is why I want to share some photos below. You may even see some folks you recognize.
Please take a moment to read, then consider spreading the word about our campaign by forwarding this note to friends and family.
More soon,
Ras Smith
Democrat for Governor
Had the chance to reflect in Dubuque before visiting UAW members on the picket line.
Caught up with Ty from the Iowa Starting Line. We got breakfast at Johnnie Mars. The hashbrowns are delicious!
Hall Harvester is one of my favorite events. I had a blast supporting my good friend Rep. Chris Hall and saying "hi" to local leaders like Penny.
I spent time with my wife and kids in Iowa City celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month. The music was great, and the time with family on the campaign trail is precious.
We visited the Warren County Dems. This picture just about sums up a week of meeting Democrats across the state.
After a great event at the home of Prakash, I was honored to accept a gift that includes a piece of Iowa history from the home of Norman Borlaug.
And since we're making a point to enjoy all Iowa has to offer -- we met with supporters at an awesome barn party in Urbandale. I only took home a few slices of pie… well maybe more than a few (for the kids, right?) 🥧
