The Republican Party's plot to ban abortion across America just scored some major victories.
The GOP-led Texas state legislature successfully banned abortion, recently upheld by the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals. And on December 1, Donald Trump's conservative–packed Supreme Court will hear a case that could reverse Roe v. Wade.
“Alarm bells are ringing loudly about the threat to reproductive rights,” Nancy Northup, president of the Center for Reproductive Rights, told The New York Times. “The Supreme Court just agreed to review an abortion ban that unquestionably violates nearly 50 years of Supreme Court precedent and is a test case to overturn Roe v. Wade,” Northrup said.
We will fight with all we've got. We will speak out against the sexist Republican Party, confront Trump's hyper-partisan far-right Supreme Court majority, and rally behind every single pro-choice progressive in the 2022 midterm elections. But the GOP electioneering machine just launched a $10 million advertising offensive specifically targeting reproductive rights champions like Catherine Cortez Masto and Maggie Hassan.
And up against a deeply entrenched, exorbitantly funded sexist politicking machine, the fact that we are short $2,036 on this week's mission-critical fundraising goal means that we need to redouble our outreach to make sure everybody joins the fight.
