In Arizona, loyal Trump donor and energy mogul Jim Lamon loaned his own campaign a whopping $5 million to cover up his miserable grassroots funding and project false strength ahead of his challenge to Democratic Senator Mark Kelly.

The problem is, the Republicans' dirty tricks are already working. By dumping millions into their own campaigns, flaunting their flagrant disregard for their supposed constituents, and making a wholesale mockery of our democratic institutions, self-funding Republican candidates are proving they plan to simply try to buy elections.

Mark Kelly is a NASA hero, a climate change champion, and one of our most important liberal voices on Capitol Hill. Kelly is the antithesis of the run-of-the-mill cynical greedy Republican businessman. That's why Democrats in Arizona and around the country rallied behind his historic 2020 campaign that delivered us our razor-thin 50/50 Senate Majority.
