Hi there, I’m Jim Cooper. I’m a lifelong Tennessean, a Democrat, and I’m honored to serve as congressman for the Nashville area.

Nashville is awesome, probably the most popular city in America right now. Our oasis of blue in a red state is an economic crown jewel. We are a vibrant, growing, and welcoming community with fabulous music all around us, where families put down roots and neighbors support each other during good times and bad, like the recent tragic flooding.

I fight to keep Nashville strong. Whether it’s for healthcare for all, voting rights, better jobs, a cleaner environment, or our world-famous music industry. I've helped bring home far more money than ever for Nashville — in the form of stimulus checks, unemployment benefits, Child Tax Credits, and billions specifically for our music, restaurant and hospitality businesses that are so vital to our tourism economy. Child poverty is being cut in half in Tennessee!

My goal in Congress is to ensure everyone in Middle Tennessee has the opportunity to thrive. 

With the Delta variant, the health of our people and our democracy have never been at greater risk, and I’ve been leading the fight to expand Medicaid and voting rights in our state.

Serving Tennessee has been my life’s work and I’m honored to have your support.
