John, these lies are enraging: 

On average, 316 Americans are shot every day in America. Despite this, the NRA wants us to believe that more guns everywhere will make us safer... And make no mistake, the NRA is dangerously serious about their “more guns everywhere” agenda — and it should be of grave concern to each and every one of us. 

In less than three weeks, the NRA will argue before the highest court in the land — the United States Supreme Court — that all Americans should be free to carry firearms openly in public without ANY restrictions. 

In other words, the NRA’s wildest dreams could come true: Americans will be free to shoot and kill in public — no questions asked. But we refuse to let this happen. Brady Legal filed a brief to the Supreme Court on the side of the American people, defending our constitutional right not to be shot. And we’re rallying outside of the Supreme Court on November 3 with a clear message: gun laws save lives!

The bottom line is that we’re gearing up for the fight of our lives against the NRA — and we need your urgent help, John. Will you join Brady in defending our right not to be shot by signing onto our “People’s Amicus Brief?” We need to push back on the NRA’s reckless “guns everywhere” agenda and show the Supreme Court that we have the right not to be shot.

Team ENOUGH, our youth-led initiative, just opened applications for their Lobbying Collective programs in Virginia, Florida, and California — and we need your help spreading the word! Will you share this opportunity on social media to encourage young people (ages 13-26) to apply? The Team ENOUGH Lobbying Collective is the only national, youth-led group lobbying for gun reform.

Applications are due Friday, November 12, at midnight.

This week, the gunman charged in the 2018 mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, FL, pleaded guilty to murder and attempted murder. While this news is welcomed by many, we cannot lose sight of this week’s gun violence prevention heroes of the week: the families, friends, and community devastated by this tragedy.

Today and every day, it is vitally important that we continue to uplift and support those affected by this shooting. We must ensure their voices are front and center in the conversation to prevent yet another tragedy like Parkland. We at Brady stand with — and thank — all of the families, friends, and loved ones who have fought for change after such an insurmountable loss. We will never stop fighting to prioritize their needs and voices in the movement to end gun violence.
