The post holder will be a member of our mental health support team trailblazer working in partnership with CAMHS, social care, health and education agencies. The post holder will train in an IAPT Evidence Based Practice and deliver therapeutic work alongside this training. To deliver accessible services for children & young people with a range of emotional & behavioural difficulties. These vulnerabilities may include: Learning difficulties/disability, ASD, ADHD and/or developmental/conduct disorders. Children and Y/P who may have suffered trauma/abuse. This is an opportunity to deliver support at the early intervention end of the Behaviour, Emotional and Mental Health Pathway in Nottingham City. The role includes:

As part of the MHST you will:
?
  1. Offer direct therapeutic work to children and young people using CBT
  2. Complete post graduate training in CBT at Reading University
  3. Work collaboratively with CAMHS Universal Services, City SPA, other providers on the pathway and other practitioners within NCC and beyond
  4. Signposting to other agencies and services
  5. Support in developing meaningful participation at the early intervention end of the BEMH pathway
  6. Work with education establishments to embed the early intervention model of MHST?s

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
?
  • Relevant professional qualification, Social work, nursing or teaching, Dipsw, CSS, CQSW, QTS, RMN, NVQ 4 or above in a relevant field or core profession as defined in BABCP (http://babcp.com/Accreditation/Core-Profession.aspx plus relevant honours degree graded at 2.2 or above.)
  • Direct experience as a practitioner in a childcare setting.
  • Knowledge and awareness regarding mental health problems and their impact on young people and their families.
  • Knowledge and existing skills regarding a range of therapeutic interventions and their application to practice for a wide range of mental health presentations. Including a sound knowledge of theory and its application to evidence based practice.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to relate to children, young people, families and professionals.
  • Ability and experience of working with a range of agencies and other professionals and forming positive working relationships.
