Friend – this is big: After intervention from the Biden administration's Justice Department, the Supreme Court has agreed to hear arguments on overturning Texas' extremist abortion ban. However, the Court declined to halt Texas' abortion ban in the meantime, leaving in place the most restrictive abortion law in the country and continuing to endanger the lives of Americans in our second-largest state.
I'm hoping and praying that the Court makes the right decision here. But you know as well as I do the reality of how this conservative majority – which my opponent Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) was instrumental in cementing – might rule. As we've seen with how things have played out in Texas, we cannot rely on the courts to protect our right to choose.
We need to guarantee every American's reproductive rights in a way that isn't dependent on the whims of controversially appointed Justices – and the only way to do that is through codifying Roe v. Wade into law. But that's only going to happen if grassroots activists like you make your voices heard.
So ahead of the Supreme Court's imminent decision, I need 1,500 members of this team to speak out and put grassroots pressure on Congress. We only have until 11:59 p.m. to gather responses, so please submit your answer to our live survey right now:
