You’re invited to a documentary screening and discussion with Michigan AG Dana Nessel.
Friend,
We’ve got some exciting news to share – Michigan’s Democratic Attorney General Dana Nessel is participating in a screening for the documentary, On These Grounds, about the fight to end the school-to-prison pipeline and you’re invited to a virtual screening followed by a discussion on Tuesday, October 26 at 5:15 PM ET.
The school-to-prison pipeline is a destructive force in our country. A disproportionate number of Black and Brown youth are being put into lifelong carceral cycles, losing their chance at future education, employment, and participation in our democracy. AG Nessel has been fighting to end this cycle since Day One in office. Earlier this year, she led a coalition of 23 AGs urging the U.S. Department of Education to ensure student discipline equity.
Immediately after the screening, Represent Justice CEO Daniel Forkkio will host a panel discussion with AG Nessel, as well as President of the Michigan Education Association Paula Herbart and Director of the Education Civil Rights Alliance Miriam Rollin.
Democratic AGs truly are “The People’s Lawyers” and DAGA is the only party committee devoted to electing more of them. Since 2016, we’ve won two-thirds of our targeted races, and with more than 30 AG seats up for grabs in the next two years, we need your support – will you chip in today?
