On *Monday,?*Governor Mike DeWine spoke at the Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony in Columbus where he recognized 12 inductees on their outstanding accomplishments in service to our country.

Lt. Governor Husted announces the launch of two new Broadband Workforce programs while in Youngstown on Monday.

Also on *Monday [ [link removed] ]*, Lt. Governor Jon Husted, who serves as Director of the Governor?s Office of Workforce Transformation (OWT), announced the launch of the Broadband and 5G Sector Partnership Grant application, as well as the launch of 5G Readiness Programs at Youngstown State University and Ashland University. Both announcements are part of a larger effort by OWT and BroadbandOhio to grow the workforce needed to expand broadband access and 5G in Ohio.

The ?Strengthening Ohio?s Broadband & 5G Workforce? Strategy, released in September, calls for a Broadband and 5G Sector Partnership to design and distribute curriculum and training programs that will supply the industry with a skilled workforce. Ohio?s colleges and universities will have the opportunity to apply for the sector partnership, and as part of their application, they will identify a nonprofit telecommunications industry partner that will lead the effort.

?Through BroadbandOhio, our administration is aggressively working to expand high-speed internet access around Ohio, but we can?t build the infrastructure without programs to train and produce a workforce,? said Lt. Governor Husted. ?This sector partnership will spur the creation of even more training programs in the state, allowing more Ohioans to earn the skills and credentials needed to get a job in this fast-growing industry.?

On *Tuesday*,?Governor DeWine and First Fran Lady DeWine met with local officials in?Somerset about various projects including the Fill the Freezer Campaign, Broadband Installer Pilot Program, Broadband Adoption Project, and the Somerset Pop-Up Shop Competition.?

Lt. Governor Husted traveled to Marion *Tuesday* morning to tour the annual?Made in Marion exhibits and meet with middle school students. At the event, area manufacturers had the opportunity to showcase their operations to a variety of audiences?to inspire and educate the next generation of manufacturers?and to provide insight to our future workforce.

New Ohio License Plate

The new Ohio license plate, "Sunrise in Ohio," was unveiled by Governor DeWine and First Lady DeWine on Thursday morning.

On *Thursday [ [link removed] ]*,?Governor DeWine, First Lady DeWine, and Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) Registrar Charles Norman unveiled Ohio's next generation of standard license plates.?

The Ohio BMV designed the new "Sunrise in Ohio" license plate with input from Governor and First Lady DeWine, who took inspiration from the Great Seal of Ohio, the state's diverse landscapes, Ohio's past and present innovations, and the state's bold, bright future.

"We wanted Ohio's new license plate to reflect the heart and soul of our state and to encapsulate where we've been, who we are, and where we're going," said Governor DeWine. "The imagery on our new license plate symbolizes what makes Ohio beautiful, unique, and extraordinary."

?Growing up and living in Ohio throughout our entire lives, Mike and I love the Ohio story,? said Ohio First Lady Fran DeWine. ?With the new license plate, we wanted to feature Ohio?s beauty, talent, and rich history, while emphasizing with each new sunrise in Ohio, comes a new day and opportunity forward for an even brighter future.?

As a part of Governor DeWine?s H2Ohio [ [link removed] ] initiative, Lt. Governor Husted and Ohio Department of Natural Resources Director Mary Mertz held a ribbon cutting ceremony on *Thursday* at the Sandusky Headwaters Preserve Wetland and Habitat Restoration [ [link removed] ] in Crawford County. H2Ohio is Governor DeWine?s initiative to ensure safe and clean water in Ohio. It is a comprehensive, data-driven approach to improving water quality over the long term.

On *Friday [ [link removed] ]*,?Governor DeWine and Lt. Governor Husted met with members of FIFA and the U.S. Soccer Delegation in Cincinnati as the city bids to host the FIFA World Cup games in 2026.?

Cincinnati is one of 17 cities in the United States vying to be a World Cup Host City for the 2026 international event at Paul Brown Stadium. Of the 17, 10 host cities will be chosen from the U.S. with the remaining host cities from Mexico and Canada.

"This bid is very exciting and important for Ohio. Having a world class sporting event where the whole world is watching, you can't get any better than that," said Governor DeWine. "The entire state of Ohio is behind Cincinnati and we know they would be the perfect host for the FIFA World Cup."

Also on *Friday*, Governor DeWine spoke at a groundbreaking ceremony for Sherwin-Williams as they prepare to build a new 600,000-square foot research and development center in Brecksville. This project will create an estimated 3,000 construction jobs and upon completion, will create 400 new full-time jobs.
