Two old friends came together at the Heritage Foundation last night to toast to 30 years of denigrating our democracy and rolling back the hard-fought rights of millions of Americans.
Senator Mitch McConnell joined Justice Clarence Thomas at the Heritage Foundation event and praised Thomas for his extremist anti-abortion views while celebrating the 30th anniversary of his confirmation to the Court. Now, after 30 years of effort, McConnell and Thomas are closer than ever to eliminating the right to abortion: just this morning, the Court announced it will continue to allow Texas’s six-week abortion ban to stay in place while they prepare to eviscerate Roe for good.
Justice Thomas, his far-right colleagues, and GOP donors clearly feel no reason to hide their partisan agendas — and millions of people have already been impacted by this Court’s extremist rulings that advance the interests of McConnell and his powerful friends. Enough is enough.
