Earlier this week, Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans used the filibuster to block a procedural vote to open debate on the Freedom to Vote Act — a bill that would stop partisan gerrymandering, end dark money in our elections, and would protect people who live in states where their freedom to vote is under attack.
You’ve already signed the petition calling to end the filibuster and pass the Freedom to Vote Act, thank you! Can you pitch in to support Chris and the fight to protect access to the ballot for every eligible voter across our country?

Subject: BREAKING: Republicans filibuster voting rights
To: [email protected]
I just left the Senate floor where I proudly voted in favor of passage of the Freedom to Vote Act, because voting is a fundamental right in our democracy and we must protect that right for all Americans, especially now that it is under attack from the Big Lie in Republican states across our country.
Yet even though an overwhelming majority of Americans support this commonsense legislation to protect our democracy, Mitch McConnell and every single Republican senator just used the filibuster to block the Freedom to Vote Act from coming to a final vote in the Senate.
This is as clear as it gets: in order to protect our democracy, stop partisan gerrymandering, and eliminate dark money in elections, we must END THE FILIBUSTER and pass the Freedom to Vote Act now.
Sign your name to show your support for eliminating the anti-democratic, archaic filibuster. It's long past time that we end Mitch McConnell’s stranglehold on the U.S. Senate and pass the Freedom to Vote Act and advance the agenda the American people overwhelmingly supported in 2020.
The laws being passed in Republican-controlled legislatures represent a dangerous attack on the legitimacy of our elections. They will make it more difficult for millions of Americans to vote — particularly young people and people of color. And they will allow political partisans to overturn the results of elections and substitute their preferences for the will of the people.
This is a fight we cannot afford to lose, and I will continue to do everything in my power to protect access to the ballot box for every eligible voter and work to safeguard the legitimacy of our elections.
Thank you for being a part of this.
Chris
