No matter what, we need to make sure $150 billion goes toward decarbonization. ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌

Friend,

The Clean Energy Performance Plan (CEPP) is the single most effective way to reach Biden's critical goal of 100% clean electricity by 2035. Full stop.

Joe Manchin doesn't think the CEPP is necessary. He's flat out wrong. Full stop.

And though Manchin is determined to get his way, reducing carbon pollution—through the CEPP or otherwise—is popular, urgent, and non-negotiable. Full. Stop.

Cutting climate investments from this reconciliation bill is not an option. So if Manchin won't support the CEPP, our senators and representatives need to make sure those funds ($150 billion) are used for another decarbonization investment that meets Biden's climate goals.

President Biden called for the exact same commitment from Congress at his town hall last night. Now, we need you to call on Congress, too.

Please, to fight back against Joe Manchin's misinformation campaign, will you call your members of Congress and demand the Build Back Better Act include $150 billion in bold decarbonization investments? We can't afford anything less.

MAKE THE CALL

Voters elected Biden, held the House, and flipped the Senate so that Democrats would deliver on their bold climate commitments, including Biden's commitment of 100% clean electricity by 2035. The $150 billion Clean Electricity Performance Program is the single most effective way to reach this goal.

If there are other ways to achieve the same result of reducing carbon pollution in the electric sector while delivering jobs and justice, that would be worth exploring. But we cannot cut a dime of the decarbonization investments if we want to get the job done.

Now, we need to make sure our representatives know that we're expecting them to hold the line and fight for the investments it'll take to reduce carbon pollution.

Call your members of Congress today and tell them that cutting investments in clean energy is a non-starter. Biden promised $150 billion, and he reaffirmed it at last night's town hall. (We've included a short script to make it this super easy and quick for you!)

No climate, no deal,
