Climate change is having a disproportionate impact on many of the
communities we serve. But skills training plus access to essential
resources can help communities adapt and thrive in the face of climate
change.


[ Uganda ]Uganda
In Uganda, Iriama is working to counter the effects of climate change and
malnutrition by creating year-round kitchen gardens — a skill she learned
in a Mercy Corps training. Iriama is also a leader in her community, and
she shares her knowledge with her peers.


[ Democratic ]Democratic Republic of Congo
The slopes of South Kivu in the Democratic Republic of Congo are highly
prone to erosion. Mercy Corps team member Itoskit (left) works to teach
community members techniques to improve soil fertility and increase the
land available for food production.
