Reports out of Washington are that Democrats are nearing a deal on Build Back Better. But a small handful of conservative Democrats are still demanding significant compromises to our agenda.

Senator Joe Manchin has pushed for slashing the number of children and families benefiting from the Child Tax Credit, which the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities says will negatively impact tens of millions of children, including 5 million children of veterans and active-duty families.¹

And, Politico is reporting that Senator Kyrsten Sinema “remains opposed to one of the party's chief goals of raising tax rates on high-income earners and corporations.”²

We’re holding our elected officials accountable, demanding Democrats pass a Build Back Better plan that lifts up all families―and finally makes the rich and corporations pay their fair share. President Biden ran on a promise to tax wealth like work and unrig our tax code, and his Build Back Better plan would do that. Any member of Congress that opposes this plan is siding with Wall Street over working people.
