EMPL delegation to Croatia
The Committee on Employment and Social Affairs (EMPL) is sending a delegation composed of 6 Members to Croatia. It will meet Members of the Croatian Parliament, social partners and various stakeholders in order to discuss the social situation and labour market in Croatia, the implementation of EU law in the area of employment and social affairs and the use of relevant EU funding instruments by this Member State.
ITRE delegation to Budapest and Vienna
The Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE) will send a delegation to Budapest, Hungary & Vienna, Austria. The main purpose is to visit the European Institute of Technology (EIT) in Budapest including the EIT Digital’s Innovation Hub. The Delegation will also visit the Austrian Institute of Technology in Vienna.
Thursday 31 October

EMPL delegation to Geneva
The Committee on Employment and Social Affairs (EMPL) is sending an ad-hoc delegation composed of 7 Members to the International Labour Organisation ILO in Geneva. The purpose of the delegation visit is to mark the ILO's 100 anniversary. During their visit, Members will meet with representatives from ILO, EU delegations and the Finnish Presidency.

COREPER I & II
COREPER I deals with the following policy areas of the Union: employment, social policy, health and consumer affairs; competitiveness (internal market, industry and research); transport, telecommunications and energy; agriculture and fisheries; environment; education, youth, culture and sport. COREPER II deals with the following policy areas of the Union: general affairs and external relations; economic and financial affairs; justice and home affairs; preparation of the European Council work.

Commissioners Mogherini and Mimica participate in refugee and migrant conference
In Brussels, Federica Mogherini co-hosts and Neven Mimica participates in the International Solidarity Conference on the Venezuelan Refugee and Migrant crisis.
Conference on the evaluation of the EU legislation on blood, tissue and cells
Following the publication of the ‘Evaluation of the EU legislation on blood, tissues and cells’, the European Commission organises this conference to present the findings and give stakeholders an opportunity to discuss them. The conference is open to all interested organisations and individuals.

EPAA Annual Conference: Building confidence for the use of 3Rs
The aim of this event will be to give participants an insight on building confidence for the use of 3Rs; to report on EPAA achievements and milestones through 2019; to announce the EPAA 'refinement prize' winner.
Commissioner Dombrovskis participates in ESM ceremony
Valdis Dombrovskis receives Mr Klaus Regling, Managing Director of the European Stability Mechanism (ESM), and participates in the opening ceremony of the book on the history of the ESM ‘Safeguarding the Euro in Times of Crisis - The Inside Story of the ESM', in Brussels.
Commissioner Vestager participates in Digital Summit
Margrethe Vestager will be in Dortmund, Germany, to deliver a keynote speech at the Digital Summit, and to meet Peter Altmaier, Minister of Finance of Germany.

Tackling anti-Roma hate crime
The FRA will take part in the Council of Europe’s annual meeting of the Ad hoc Committee of Experts on Roma and Traveller Issues (CAHROM). During the meeting, FRA will explain its hate crime assistance to the authorities, with focus on anti-Roma bias.

The meeting will bring together experts from EU countries, the United States and Canada to discuss best practices, legislation and critical interdependencies in relation to the protection of critical infrastructure.

Demographic Change, Equality, and Wellbeing – Towards Integrated Policies for Ageing Societies
The Joint Programming Initiative (JPI) More Years, Better Lives – The Potential and Challenges of Demographic Change aims to provide the intelligence and knowledge base to seek better evidence for policy-making for sustainable solutions. Researchers, stakeholders and policymakers from JPI MYBL’s 17 member countries will gather in Helsinki to discuss policy integration.

ESDN Conference 2019: Towards a Sustainable Europe 2030 – From Reflection to Action?
The annual ESDN Conference, organized on 30-31 October 2019, will bring together sustainable development policymakers and experts from different stakeholder groups from all over Europe. The conference themes focus on implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in Europe.
Greener Finance for Sustainable Future
Climate is one of the main themes of the Finnish Presidency. The financial market plays an important role in preventing climate change. The purpose of the conference is to bring to discussion climate and environment issues that concern the financial market and financial stability and to inform the participants of the measures underway. The conference is co-organised by the Ministry of Finance and the Bank of Finland.

Autumn Session of the Conference of INGOs in Strasbourg
The theme for this October session is migration. The Human Rights Committee will hold a round table on hate speech on the internet towards migrants; The Education and Culture Committee will engage local councilors on the theme of diversity and European cultural identity; The Democracy, Social Cohesion and Global Challenges Committee will highlight and set out the causes, impact and dramatic perspectives of ecological migration, climate, biodiversity and issues around the Mediterranean
