Donald Trump’s big lie is being amplified by state legislatures across the country who are using it as cover to pass voter suppression laws.

Democrats have tried passing legislation to protect voting rights this year, but Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema are collaborating with Republicans using the Jim Crow-era filibuster to ensure that this legislation fails.

Here’s the bottom line: If we don't pass the Freedom to Vote legislation protecting voting rights, Democrats are going to get slaughtered in 2022 and 2024. That’s why I got arrested at the White House this week along with Alyssa Milano, Ben Jealous, and Our Revolution members who refuse to let our democracy be destroyed without a fight.

Our organizing pressure paid off last night when Joe Biden, for the first time, said he is open to getting rid of the filibuster to pass voting rights!

While Biden’s new stance is a big victory, we can’t celebrate until corporate Democrats stop defending the racist Jim Crow filibuster. If people can't get to the polls and exercise their right to vote, we could see a fascist takeover of our country.
