Here’s the truth: We can’t sit on the sidelines in the fight to protect reproductive freedom.

Donald Trump stacked the Supreme Court with a conservative supermajority that all but gave the green light for Texas Republicans to effectively ban safe, legal abortion in the state. One thing is clear: The Supreme Court’s refusal to protect abortion access sets a dangerous precedent across the country -- even in Maryland.

Now more than ever, we need to use our power to elect leaders who will fight like hell to protect reproductive freedom and uphold our values. That’s why I’m asking you to support Tom’s campaign for governor today.

We can’t take anything for granted, folks. Can I count on you to support Tom’s campaign today?

As a country, we have a lot of work to do to realize a future where our lives, bodies, work, and families are safe and protected. I know Tom Perez is the right person to take on this monumental challenge.

He championed reproductive freedom as the head of the Civil Rights division in the Department of Justice, where he aggressively enforced the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act, and protected women’s access to critical health services. He expanded health care for workers as Labor Secretary. And he stood shoulder to shoulder with organizers from across the country to defeat Donald Trump in 2020.

I’ve seen him lead with determination, grit, and compassion countless times in our work together, and I know he’ll bring the same fire to Annapolis. I could not be more proud to endorse him for Governor. I hope you’ll join me in supporting him, too.
