Sean is known as the “Biggest Nerd” in Congress, but I’d also argue that he’s the biggest advocate for climate change action.
I’d like to propose the new title for Sean: Climate Champion!
Before representing IL-06, Sean was the CEO of a clean energy company. Now in Congress, Sean works tirelessly to address climate change.
Here’s a nonexhaustive list of measures Sean has taken to address climate change:
- Cosponsored H.R. 9, the Climate Action Now Act
- Started the #HotFERCSummer campaign to raise awareness about the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission
- Member of the House Select Committee on the Climate Crisis
- Secured investments for the national climate research as part of the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology
- Fought for expanded infrastructure package that addresses the root causes of climate change
- Scored 100% on the League of Conservation Voters’ National Environmental Scorecard in 2020 -- meaning Sean voted for every pro-environment measure and against every anti-environment measure
Sean believes in doing what is scientifically necessary to combat climate change, not just doing what is “politically possible.”
