Pro-Family & ProLife Update Proposed Pro-Life, Pro-Family Tax Policy for Michigan From our friends at Michigan Family Forum: "The Senate Finance Committee heard testimony on HB 4644, legislation to allow pregnant women to count their unborn child as an exemption on their taxes as long as they were getting prenatal care. In addition to promoting the health of the mother and the baby, the measure would provide important tax relief to young, growing families. Finally, the proposal would help create a culture of life by helping taxpayers view the unborn child the same as they view their born children. The idea was first promoted by MFF and has already passed the House. It is expected that there are sufficient votes to move the legislation out of the Finance Committee and to the full Senate." Read the legislation here. US Senate Expected to Vote on Women's Health Protection Act Soon "If enacted, the Women’s Health Protection Act would endanger essentially all state-level abortion restrictions, existing state and federal conscience protection laws, and various provisions limiting taxpayer funding for abortions," stated DeVos Center Policy Analyst Melanie Israel. In short, if passed, H.R. 3755 would allow federal tax dollars to fund abortion, codify Roe in the US legal code, and override more than 500 state laws protecting the unborn. The bill is now on the Senate calendar for it's second reading, and a vote is expected any day. Contact the Senate and let them know your thoughts on this important bill. White House Lifts Abortion Referral Ban on Family Planning Services The Biden administration recently reversed a ban on abortion referrals by family planning clinics, lifting a Trump-era restriction. "The taxpayers of America should not be forced to have any part in ending the lives of innocent unborn human beings! Elections can have horrible consequences." CTV remains steadfast in the commitment to defend the lives of the unborn and will not rest until injustices like this cease. Read more.
