Dear Subscriber,

You are cordially invited to join us on November 18, 2021 for an evening celebrating 45 years of independent, local journalism and our inauguration of The City Limits' Hall of Fame.

We are honoring four distinguished women who exemplify the diversity, ingenuity and grit of New Yorkers. Their work and contributions to New York City have furthered our mission - to inform and empower citizens to create a more equitable and just city. The Hall of Fame Honorees are: Afua Atta-Mensah - Chief of Programs Community Change, former Executive Director, Community Voices Heard, Jenna Flanagan - Host of MetroFocus, The WNET Group; Christine Quinn - President & CEO, Win; and, Kathryn Wylde - President & CEO, Partnership for New York City. They will be joining a dozen previous honorees to establish our Hall of Fame on November 18.

To highlight the accomplishments of our own staff and board, we have instituted a Fellowship programs for the event to honor Jarrett Murphy and Mark Edmiston, whose long-term contributions and impact have helped make City Limits a sustainable, investigative, award-winning, independent local news outlet. These fellowships will directly help us to fund fellows in the following areas:

The Jarrett Murphy Fellowship in Climate & Health Reporting
In honor of Jarrett Murphy's extraordinary 14-year tenure with City Limits, including as the newsroom leader, this fellowship is being named for his contributions to reporting in New York, focussing on Murphy's passion: the effects of climate change and health care for New Yorkers.

The Mark Edmiston Fellowship in Media & Business Innovation
Following a storied career in media and publishing, including many years as the chair of City Limits' Board of Trustees, we are establishing a fellowship in Mark Edmiston's name to support an emerging business leader to focus on the organization's new products initiatives and strategic business development.

City Limits is raising $25,000 per Fellowship, to make a donation to either fellowship please go to citylimitsgala.org ([link removed]) .

We hope you can join us for our 45th Anniversary and Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Thursday, November 18, 2021, 6:30 - 9:30 pm at the Stanley Kaplan Penthouse at the Lincoln Center.
