ADL Hosts Bearing Witness for Catholic Educators
Each year, Bearing Witness Institute brings together Catholic school educators from around the country for a one-of-a-kind professional development experience. Participants learn about the history of anti-Semitism, including the role of the Church during the Holocaust, recent changes in Catholic teachings on Jews and Judaism, issues of prejudice in contemporary society and practical strategies for teaching students about the Holocaust and anti-Semitism. This year’s program convened 35 educators from throughout the United States to learn from both Catholic and Jewish experts, as well as local faith leaders, including the newly appointed Archbishop of Washington, Wilton Gregory.

Bearing Witness is a partnership between ADL, National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA), U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, and Georgetown University’s Center for Jewish Civilization.

In response, ADL CEO and National Director Jonathan Greenblatt tweeted "this is the sound of illberalism, intolerance. Listen closely: it's a danger not just to immigrants and minorities but to all Americans. Put politics aside.
