John -
Despite Republicans' attempts to block the truth, the Democrats' select committee investigation into the January 6th attack on our Capitol is underway in the House. On Tuesday, the Select Committee — unanimously and on a bipartisan basis — approved the resolution to hold Steve Bannon in contempt of criminal court.
This is a huge step in the right direction to uncovering the truth, holding the responsible parties accountable, and defending our democracy.
Every witness should do their patriotic duty and cooperate with this investigation. That's why the House voted today to approve the resolution holding Steve Bannon in contempt of criminal court for failing to comply with the Congressional subpoena. We didn’t want to find ourselves here, but no one is above the law.
If an everyday American refused to cooperate with a lawful investigation, you can bet they would face harsh consequences.
The House and the Select Committee will continue to fight the obstructionists, Trump and Bannon, but those two individuals do not have the power to derail this investigation into the violent attack on our democracy.

Marc Veasey Team Never Again
Growing up in Fort Worth’s historic Como neighborhood, Marc Veasey didn’t dream about being an elected official. He just hoped that he would one day be able to make a difference in the lives of his friends and neighbors. That simple goal has taken him all the way to the halls of Congress, where he is proud to represent not only the friends and neighbors he grew up with but hundreds of thousands of diverse voices across North Texas. Now, Marc continues his fight to protect the voices of all Texans as the Founding Co-Chair of the Congressional Voting Rights Caucus.
