Friends,
Today, Gerry voted to hold Donald Trump's close ally Steve Bannon in contempt of Congress for defying a subpoena issued by the bi-partisan January 6th Commission. This sends an important message to those who participated in the riots and refuse to comply with our Congressional investigation - we will find you, and we will hold you accountable by any and every means available.
But all of the work Gerry and the January 6th Commission have invested in uncovering the truths of that day will be in jeopardy if we do not maintain our majority in 2022. Most Republicans in the House continue to push bold-faced lies about what happened on that day, claiming the rioters were "peaceful protestors" and parroting Trump's absurd claims of voter fraud - even going so far as to blame Speaker Pelosi for the insurrectionists. Ridiculous.

January 6th was the first time in over 200 years that the Capitol building had been breached, resulting in injuries to hundreds of officers and the deaths of at least five people. There is no doubt that those who entered the building were seeking to stop the certification of the free, fair, and secure election of 2020, and that they were intent on hurting and even killing those who did not align with their fealty to Donald Trump. If our democracy is going to survive the next five, ten, or hundred years, we need to start by getting to the bottom of what happened that day and bringing it to light. Gerry will not stop until that work is done - if you stand with him, please consider contributing TODAY to keep him in office.
Thank you,
Team Connolly
