John, we need you to join us in D.C. this Saturday to send senators an unmistakable message: our democracy depends on you taking action to fix the filibuster.
We are the closest we have been in a generation to passing transformative voting rights legislation, and it's time to move onto the next battle: urging our senators to fix the filibuster so we can pass the Freedom to Vote Act and lock in voting protections for hundreds of millions of people.
Join us this Saturday, October 23th as we rally with our partners at the finish line of a relay from West Virginia to Washington D.C. -- all to urge the Senate and President Biden to reform the filibuster and pass key voting rights legislation. >>
When: Saturday, October 23
Time: 11:30am - 1pm
Where: Robert A. Taft Memorial and Carillon, at the intersection of Constitution Avenue Northwest and New Jersey Avenue Northwest in Washington D.C.
COVID Safety: We ask that you wear masks while attending the event, and follow all local safety guidelines.
Majority Leader Schumer has already declared that he'll bring up the companion bill to the Freedom To Vote Act, the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act, for a major vote next week.
Without filibuster reform to enable voting rights legislation like this, we can expect even more egregious partisan gerrymandering, secret money in politics, and other efforts by extremist legislators to deny representation for millions.
Won't you join us Saturday to urge our senators to reform the filibuster to protect our voting rights, and secure the vote across the nation?
Thank you for your continued support,
