There’s a long history of the filibuster being used to block civil rights and voting legislation. So why won’t Joe Biden apply pressure on Senate Democrats to get rid of it? Why won’t Schumer?

The world is burning and Congress isn’t taking climate change seriously. If we continue burning greenhouse gases at our current rate, 5 degrees of warming is a real, apocalyptic possibility. Sea levels would rise 33 to 197 feet and major cities such as New York, Miami, and New Orleans would disappear under the water.
