Greg Abbott just appointed Donald Trump’s lawyer -- a man who tried to overturn the 2020 election -- to be Texas’ Secretary of State. Now, he’ll be responsible for overseeing our elections.

The man Abbott appointed is John Scott -- one of the worst purveyors of Donald Trump’s “Big Lie.”

He represented Trump in a lawsuit challenging the 2020 election results in Pennsylvania despite the fact that Trump’s own Attorney General, Bill Barr, confirmed that there was no evidence of widespread voter fraud.

Now, the Secretary of State's Office will be headed by someone intent on paving the way for voter suppression, partisan gerrymandering, and discrimination. We have to fight this.
