We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: The NRA’s corruption knows no bounds. We shout it from the rooftops, we weave it into our Amicus Briefs, we chant it in the streets, and we call their BS, early and often.
But it’s hard to truly digest how despicable the NRA is until you put a face to it; until you name the villain behind the politics; until you hear the vitriolic words from their mouths: "their lives are the price of freedom.” In case it wasn’t clear, “their lives” is us.
The NRA has convinced the American people that when people get killed, that is the price of freedom. Samantha Mayor, who was injured in the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School -- her trauma is the price of freedom. Victoria Gwynn’s brother and best friend who both died by gun violence in Louisville, Kentucky -- their lives are the price of freedom. They died so that Wayne LaPierre could carry a gun, concealed in a holster.
We live in a country where we let people die -- 106 every day -- because we’re afraid of the NRA. No other political entity has had this much success jockeying for power against the majority opinion of the American people. At this point, the only thing easier to buy in this country than a gun is a senator.
And we pay the price with our lives.
Documentaries have a way of unpacking reality and reminding us how truly bonkers this country is. A new documentary, “The Price of Freedom” provides an unflinching look at the gun violence epidemic in America and the lives that the NRA, with its outsized political and cultural influence, has cost us over time. March For Our Lives’ founder X Gonzalez and some of our closest collaborators in Congress, Congresswoman Lucy McBrath and Senator Chris Murphy, appear in the film to share their experiences.
The makers of this documentary, who deeply respect the work we’re doing, wanted our broader community to have access to view it without any financial barrier. We only have access for a short window, so please make sure to carve out some time this weekend, bring your folks together, and buckle up.

We will also be hosting a community screening with a live commentary from our March For Our Lives staff on Tuesday, October 26th at 8:30PM. Join us, share your thoughts, and if you can, donate to the organizers who get up every single day to continue fighting against the corrupt powers trying to put a price tag on our lives.
Onward,
March For Our Lives
