A new poll out just this week from Morning Consult shows Republican Senator Susan Collins of Maine TANKING in the polls – she’s dropped by SIXTEEN PERCENT in her net approval! That’s the steepest decline of any U.S. senator!
This shows that our efforts to highlight Collins’s continued betrayal of her constituents is working! But we NEED to defeat Collins if we’re going to flip control of the Senate and end the GOP majority.
Collins was THE KEY vote to confirm Trump’s Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh and has been a consistent rubber stamp on Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell’s radical right-wing agenda, and now voters are seeing through her dishonest attempts to portray herself as moderate.
We need to continue to ramp up grassroots pressure by keeping the spotlight on her record of confirming judges who actively seek to dismantle so many of the important rights and protections that her constituents (and others around the country) rely on:
- Collins CLAIMS to be a pro-choice moderate, but votes to confirm judges who have a record of attacking abortion rights
- Collins CLAIMS to be pro-environment, but votes to confirm judges who have a record of favoring corporations over environmental laws and regulations
- Collins CLAIMS to support health care reforms, but votes to confirm judges who would dismantle the Affordable Care Act and all the protections it provides
- And just this month she teamed up with Trump’s chief Senate lackey and one of the most rabidly anti-choice senators, Lindsey Graham to help him get reelected
And the list goes on and on…
If we’re going to stop the Trump Republican agenda and the Far Right’s complete takeover of the Judicial Branch, we can’t afford not to take back the Senate – and the road to flipping the Senate runs through Maine and Susan Collins.
Republicans know Collins has become extremely vulnerable for 2020 and will be spending BIG in the state to try and keep the seat – but with help from progressives like you we can seize the momentum of her downward spiral to DEFEAT Susan Collins and FLIP the Senate once again.
