Right now, we're working on infrastructure and spending negotiations in Congress, and it's all part of enacting President Biden's Build Back Better Agenda. I'm fighting to make sure the final version of the Build Back Better legislation includes investments to ensure families have affordable health care and child care, investments to protect our environment and combat the climate crisis, and investments to further support our economic recovery.
I can't overstate the importance of enacting the Build Back Better Agenda. It's a recognition that we can't just go back to the way things were "pre-pandemic," but rather that we need a "new normal." Our new normal needs to ensure that workers don't have to choose between their health and their paycheck. It needs to help families so they can afford child care and health care. It needs to protect our environment and ensure we have economic growth that doesn't leave families and communities behind. Now is the time to get this done, and that's what I am fighting to do.
