It’s time for CUNY to become the world class public university we know it should be.

Friend,

I am a proud CUNY graduate. I believe that every New York City resident deserves the same opportunity for an affordable, accessible, world class higher education. That’s why I am fighting to make the New Deal for CUNY -- a $2 billion investment over five years to eliminate tuition, build new modernized buildings, improve the student mental health counselor ratio, and hire more full-time teaching staff -- a reality, and why I’m hoping you’ll stand with me.

We all know that a PreK-12 education alone no longer cuts it in 2021. An associate degree, bachelor’s degree, or some kind of post-secondary training or credential, is an essential part of our basic education. A CUNY education is one of our city’s best pathways into the middle class, but we have to invest in it to make it affordable and accessible for everyone.

Watch my NY1 ‘In Focus’ interview to learn more about the New Deal for CUNY and the economic, financial and educational success it would bring to our students.

As part of their mission to help students get back on their feet post-COVID, CUNY recently announced that they would forgive a large amount of student debt. This is an impactful start -- but we need to keep fighting for longer-term investments in our university system to ensure the next generation of students get the world class public higher education they deserve.

I'm passionate about seeing CUNY get the New Deal it deserves. Are you? Join our coalition and become a Community Champion fighting for a New Deal for CUNY.

Together, we can make CUNY the best urban public university in the world. And it all starts with our New Deal.

Sincerely,

Andrew
