Virginia’s 2021 elections are the opening act for the 2022 midterms, and I need your help to make sure this key bellwether state stays blue. Recent polls continue to show a race that is neck and neck – and that means you and I have a real opportunity to make a big difference over the next ten days.
With Democrats holding the narrowest of majorities in both houses of Congress, it’s critical that we head into the 2022 election season with a strong win in Virginia – and we need your help to do that. I hope you can join me for a virtual event on the Virginia race – including civil rights legend Dolores Huerta, who is a critical leader in getting out the VA vote – to talk about how people nationwide can help keep Virginia blue this year.
A lot of people – even those in-state – don’t realize the serious risks to our country’s democracy in Virginia’s 2021 elections; that’s why we’re holding this important event. On Tuesday, October 26 at 1 PM ET / 12 PM CT / 10 AM PT, I’ll be hosting a conversation with Dolores Huerta, the Virginia House Majority Leader Charniele Herring, and People For’s political expert Kevin Harris on the Virginia elections.
We’ll learn the most up-to-the minute details about the state of the race, what its impact truly will be nationwide, and actions that will be the most helpful to folks on the ground in-state. That last part is where you come in: turning out every progressive vote possible this year will be vital for turning back the extreme far-right tide of Trumpism that is flooding other state legislatures and our nation’s capital.
