Dear Friend of the National Parks,

Our partner, Nature Valley, knows that making a difference for the
future of our national parks begins by empowering the next generation.
That's why this year, they have donated $50,000 to NPCA to fund
impact initiatives developed and led by members of our Next Generation
Advisory Council, in support of national park protection and the
important work ahead.

We'd like to invite you to a conversation where our council members
involved in this initiative will share the projects, resources and
events they have led focused on improving accessibility to our
national parks, increasing opportunities for community engagement and
raising awareness around the importance of national park protection.

Attendees will learn how a podcast, a clean-up event and a Spanish
language park guide aim to increase knowledge of and access to parks
and how our Next Generation Advisory Council members plan to build
upon these projects as part of their ongoing efforts to increase
national park advocacy among new audiences.

Please note, closed captioning will be available for this event.

Event Details

CO-HOST: Nature Valley

Since 2009, NPCA's partnership with Nature Valley, and the nearly $4
million donated to-date, has helped protect and preserve - as
well as raise awareness for ways to enjoy and give back to - our
national parks.

Featured Speakers

Andrew Yip, Next Generation Advisory Council, NPCA

A native to the San Gabriel Valley, Andrew works as a program
specialist at Active San Gabriel Valley, where he advocates for safer
streets, public transit and open space. Andrew designed and produced a
printable, illustrated digital guide to national park sites in
Southern California in English and Spanish with the aim of narrowing
the information gap for LA County residents and increase awareness of
these sites.

Tasfia Nayem, Next Generation Advisory Council, NPCA

Tasfia works to advance climate action in New York City and beyond.
For her project, Tasfia hosted a clean-up of Jamaica Bay for local
students and community members, offering an opportunity for them to
connect and learn about their nearby public lands and make a positive
impact on their community.

Jacob Ross, Next Generation Advisory Council, NPCA

Jacob's passion for the National Park Service stems from his
time as an intern in a congressional office on Capitol Hill; since
then, he's become a strong advocate for heritage interpretation
in parks. For his project, Jacob produced "The Park Less
Traveled," a podcast designed to bring awareness to our most
underutilized and under visited national parks.
