[ [link removed] ]Thanks in part to our monthly givers, we responded immediately
  after the 2010 Haiti earthquake and the 2016 hurricane. In the wake of  
the most recent 7.2 magnitude earthquake in August, we helped 15,000
Haitians receive emergency essential items, and continue to provide
assistance.
 


Mercy Corps team members are already on the ground where help is needed
most, with 85% of us being from the countries where we work. Together with
local leaders, global partners, and the support of monthly donors, we’re
strengthening small businesses throughout the pandemic, helping rural
farmers lift themselves and their communities out of poverty, creating
long-term solutions to issues exacerbated by the climate crisis, and
providing things like food, clean water, and shelter immediately following
disasters.
