Yesterday, Senate Republicans used the filibuster to block critical voting rights legislation — again.
Let’s make it plain: Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans are not interested in helping our communities. Instead, they’re using the filibuster to block progress on critical policies like safeguarding voting rights, a $15 minimum wage, environmental justice, criminal legal reform, and so much more.
It’s past time for Senate Democrats to abolish the filibuster once and for all. If you agree, add your name to join Ayanna in calling on the Senate to abolish the Jim Crow filibuster and pass our bold, progressive agenda.
With Democrats in control of the House, the Senate, and the White House, now is the time for bold, intentional, and immediate action that matches the scale and scope of the crises we face.
We cannot allow obstructionist Republicans in the minority to use this archaic, racist tool to hold on to power and deny the progress our communities deserve and demand.
Senate Democrats must end the filibuster and deliver on voters’ mandate for change — and we must all keep up the pressure by raising our voices.
