TAKE OUR PLEDGE NOW:

As Environmental Voters, we are committed to working towards ending our dependence on fossil fuels and transitioning to a clean energy economy.

CLCV Member, the science is clear:

If we want to make serious strides to avert major climate catastrophe by 2030, we MUST stop relying on fossil fuels.

The natural disasters that we’ve come to expect so much more regularly in recent years can largely be traced back to our dependence on fossil fuels.

For starters, let’s talk about some basic science:

Burning fossil fuels emits carbon dioxide and methane into the atmosphere. These gases trap heat, which in turn exacerbates wildfires and warms the oceans, contributing to climate change.

Not only that, our reliance on fossil fuels has led to dangerous deregulation in a treacherous attempt to keep gas prices low. As a result, Big Oil has become reckless -- and our economy, wildlife, and shores are paying the price in oil spills like the one we witnessed a few weeks ago in our state, off Huntington Beach. Our dependence on fossil fuels has created a “when not if” scenario, when it comes to oil spills.

Friend, these climate disasters are the direct result of our unsustainable reliance on fossil fuels. And in order to prevent climate catastrophes, we have to act NOW.

That’s why we’re asking this community of Environmental Voters to take our pledge to work with us towards moving away from fossil fuels and into a clean energy economy:

TAKE OUR PLEDGE NOW:

As Environmental Voters, we are committed to working towards ending our dependence on fossil fuels and transitioning to a clean energy economy.

The reason we need everyone on board is because of two very simple reasons:

  1. Taking on Big Oil won’t be easy.
These massive companies spend tens of millions of dollars every election cycle to guarantee we don’t win. And we know that unless we stand up to stop them, they will continue to manipulate our political system to maximize their profits.
  2. We’re running out of time.
Every year, our wildfires and other climate disasters continue to get worse. We have less than a decade to effect significant change -- we have to get to work now.

Friend, that’s why we need your active participation in our work.

To start, take our pledge as an Environmental Voter to join us in working to end our reliance on fossil fuels →

We know we have an uphill battle ahead of us, but it’s not a battle we can afford to lose.

But together, united as EnviroVoters, we can and will ensure a successful transition to a clean energy future.

In solidarity,
