John,

Recently, Colorado completed the process to draw new congressional district boundaries, usually a very dry and low key affair—but with control of the House of Representatives on the line, redistricting has potentially huge implications. Most importantly, here in Colorado, a brand new and extremely competitive district has been created: Congressional District 8.
This new district would have a significant Hispanic population, and it represents one of the Democrats’ best chances to maintain control of the House of Representatives. It is absolutely vital that we keep that majority—voting rights, racial justice, and any chance of climate change legislation depend on it. It will also be crucial that any Democrat we elect will fight for the people.

Right now, it is up to all of us to create energy around a progressive winning this district. That means educating voters about the race and the district, vetting new candidates, and, most importantly, supporting the groups and organizations on the ground that will do everything they can to back new progressive candidates.

That's where the Colorado Turnout Project comes in. CTP is one of only a few political groups in the state dedicated to fighting for a strong Democrat to win this new seat. Our work here could make or break our razor-thin majority in the House—meaning, we may be the only group standing between Kevin McCarthy and the Speaker’s gavel.

We know how important it is to get a Democrat into this seat to preserve the Democratic majority, and we are aiming to make sure that Democrat is a progressive. This effort is funded by people, not corporations or interest groups, so please consider pitching in to help us put a progressive into Colorado's 8th District seat and prevent Kevin McCarthy from becoming Speaker of the House.
