Friend,
Bernie Sanders drew 25,000 people to a rally in New York City.
Elizabeth Warren has captured more than 30% of likely voters. All in
all, we have a great field of candidates discussing deep policy needs.
And yet the New York Times just ran a front-page story with the headline
"Anxious Democratic Establishment Asks, 'Is There Anybody Else?'"
The corporate media is notorious for listening to a handful of elites
and consultants rather than millions of voters. Meanwhile, key issues
like the healthcare crisis, student loan debt, and climate change are
ignored in favor of constant polling and stories about party infighting.
That's why Common Dreams, as an independent, nonprofit news outlet, is
so crucial to the 2020 election. We don't have corporate backers
dragging us away from the real issues, and we are only accountable to
you, our readers.
We know that you are informed, sophisticated consumers of media, and we
know that you want to know how the candidates—the ones actually
running—differ on the issues. And we count on you to keep our top-notch
reporting going, which is why we're asking for your help during our Fall
Campaign.
We have a $50,000 goal for our Fall Campaign in order to keep our
independent journalism alive. Can we count on your donation?
