Dear friend,

Next week marks 35 years since the creation of the unjust sentencing disparity between crack and powder cocaine. That's 35 years of a bad, harmful criminal law.

I know the impact of this law. In 1996, I was convicted of selling crack cocaine and received a sentence that was twenty years longer than if I were convicted of selling powder cocaine. That story isn't unique to me — a whole generation has been affected by this injustice.

That's why next week FAMM is doing a week of action to fight for the EQUAL Act, which would finally end the disparity. We'll be having meetings with senate offices, sharing new materials, running ads urging people to call their lawmakers, and other exciting efforts.

Please join us by texting ACTION to 21333 to get notified about ways you can participate next week.

35 years of injustice is 35 too many. Help us in the fight to finally end the disparity between crack and powder sentences. Text ACTION to 21333 today to join us as we stand up for reform on this sad anniversary.

Thank you for your support, now and always.

Best,
