Jasmine has been an avid leader at the local level serving in Hopewell as City Councilor, appointed Vice-Mayor and the youngest African American woman Mayor in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

She has blazed the political trail fighting on the front lines strengthening public schools, improving community health, and protecting the neighborhoods in the community she lives and proudly serves in. From establishing an innovative jobs program, building an Early Childhood Task Force, and launching a partnership with Google to support small business – Jasmine gets things done.

As Mayor during the height of the pandemic, Jasmine collaborated with leaders at multiple levels of government to provide free COVID-19 resources, WiFi services, small business grants, utility resources, rent support and tax relief to our community. It’s only natural that at this time, she has stepped up to the plate and made the decision to take this fight from the local level to the House of Delegates.

At this critical juncture, we need Jasmine’s voice in the House of Delegates to fight for women’s rights, education, health and to lead in the well-needed efforts help ensure that our Commonwealth comes out of this COVID crisis with a stronger economic system that benefits all Virginians.
