John,
Did you know that Paul LePage became a Florida resident the same day he left office in 2018? That’s right, the same day that Janet Mills was sworn in as governor, Paul LePage took his Maine taxpayer-funded pension and moved to Florida.
Now, I would like to say that I’m surprised, but I’m not. When asked about his reason for moving so quickly, LePage said he didn’t want to pay taxes in Maine anymore. So while all of us pay our fair share for good schools and infrastructure, LePage moved closer to his best buddy Donald Trump.
And now, after years of divisive rhetoric and grinding our state government to a halt right before a pandemic, Paul LePage wants to be Governor again.
We cannot let that happen. With your help we can re-elect Janet Mills and convince LePage that he’s better off in Florida.
Under Janet Mills, we have led the nation in vaccination rate and our economy is booming back after a successful summer season. We have protected women’s right to choose within the state of Maine and fully funded public education, all while growing our state’s rainy day fund to almost half a billion dollars.
Meanwhile, LePage was hanging out in Florida, collecting his pension checks, skipping out on Maine taxes, and cozying up to Donald Trump.
I know that we as Mainers are looking forward not backward. Let’s send LePage back to Florida.
Thank you,
Drew
