John, Emerge women are reaching new heights in politics, elevating our communities and each other. They’re building real power, passing crucial legislation, and demanding the attention and resources that all of us need to truly thrive. That’s the good news.

The bad news is that, with every win, our alums face intense and often violent backlash, harassment, and attacks. White supremacists consistently threaten congresswomen of color with sexual violence and death. Our alums show up to their offices and scan for the nearest escape route just in case an active shooter makes it in. And my own inbox floods with racist and sexist hate every time I speak up in public.

I recently wrote an article about how we can no longer take attacks against women in the public sphere for granted, and I hope you will take a moment to read it and join me in the fight.

There’s no other way to say it: Women in politics are under siege. These increasing attacks are part of an insidious plan to silence us and distract us from the important work we’re doing to change this country for the better. And we simply can’t allow that to happen.

A wise woman once said, “It is our duty to fight for our freedom. It is our duty to win.” And Emerge is doing exactly that by recruiting, training, and electing Democratic women up and down the ballot in every state. We refuse to be intimidated by racist and sexist hate, and we will not be pushed into the shadows. But none of us can win these battles by ourselves. That’s why we need you with us, John:

Will you donate $5 or more today to help Emerge women fight back against sexist hate, run for office, and win up and down the ballot in every state?

We are so powerful together, John. Thank you for standing with us.

Emerge is a national organization working to recruit, train, and get Democratic women elected across the country, and we are so grateful to have you on our team. Our alums are strong voices for Democratic values — and they are running up and down the ballot to fight for working families. They are fighting for critical issues that affect our communities, such as the environment, accessible and affordable health care, social justice, and education equity. We need more alums fighting for us across the country.

You may notice that we send a lot of emails asking for your support — that’s because we win when everyone does what they can to help. Our organization depends on thousands of actual people who care about our democracy and want to see positive change in our communities and across our country by building power through investing in Democratic women. If you’d like to donate, click here.
