Hi Maine Conservation Voter,

It's Bill McKibben from all the way over in the state of Vermont. You may know me from a little climate group called 350.org. I really hope you're doing well right now.

I have to start off by saying that I'm so impressed with the victories that you and the team at MCV have achieved recently — from helping to usher in Maine's Climate Action Plan and Maine’s first-in-the nation fossil fuel divestment bill to the incredible environmental legislation that will protect the health of Maine people and our environment. It warms my heart knowing how much work you all have done to protect Maine and our climate.

Yet, despite all the accomplishments, our planet is at a dangerous tipping point. As the Gulf of Maine and the rest of the Earth quickly warms, we're facing a point of no return, with climate catastrophe reaching us faster than we could have ever imagined.

That's why I'm writing to you today: I'm joining my friends and allies at MCV this Friday for this year's virtual Evening for the Environment — and I hope you can be there with us to support their critical work. [[link removed]]

MCV is bringing together experts and advocates, lawmakers and activists for an incredible evening to celebrate your great achievements and motivate everyone to take on the tough climate battles ahead. The event is free, but donations are very much appreciated.

WHAT:
19th annual Evening for the Environment
to benefit Maine Conservation Voters and Maine Conservation Alliance
WHEN:
Friday, October 22
7:00 to 8:00 PM

Remember, the climate crisis affects all of us — so please join us [[link removed]] and forward this email to a friend or two and ask them to attend, too. We're all in this together, and we urgently need everyone's help if we're going to save our planet.

Thank you so much, and I look forward to celebrating with you on Friday.

- Bill
