Today Senate Republicans did what we all expected them to: blocked a crucial bill protecting voting rights from moving forward.

If Democrats got rid of the filibuster, this wouldn't be a problem, because Democrats could move the bill forward on their own.

Frustratingly, Joe Biden has said that getting rid of the filibuster would lead to gridlock in Congress. Congress is already in gridlock — ditching the filibuster will get Congress OUT of gridlock!

That's why I created this petition asking President Biden and Senate Majority Leader Schumer to get rid of the filibuster.

It's not enough to keep blaming Joe Manchin. The President and party leadership must do their job and lead.

Democratic leadership shouldn't just wring their hands and scold Republicans: they should ACT. We can't just sit by and watch while the GOP continues its assault on voting rights.
