Welcome back to another edition of the King's Chronicle, and happy National School Bus Safety Week! John and the team have been hard at work on the campaign trail and we are excited to share more of what we've been up to.

With 2022 quickly approaching and much ground left to cover as we grow our movement, our team has been busy strategizing the best ways for our campaign to reach its full potential. To do that, we put together an October strategy survey— and we want to hear from you! This is a people-powered campaign, and every voice on this team should have a say in how we plan out the road ahead. STAND WITH SCHOOL BUS DRIVERS: As an integral part of the education system and some of the most compassionate members of our community, it's time school bus drivers got the recognition they deserve. So in honor of #NationalSchoolBusSafetyWeek, John and the team are standing up to demand higher pay and better benefits for Maryland school bus drivers. On October 15th, John joined Joy Reid on MSNBC to discuss the latest right-wing attempts to force educators to teach an inaccurate, whitewashed history.

"I was a kid whose life was saved by school," said King, who is running for the gubernatorial office in Maryland. "Both my parents passed away when I was little, my mom, when I was eight, my dad, when I was 12, [and] if not for the relationships at school, I wouldn't be alive today. And so I worry a lot about kids who've been isolated from peers, from teachers."

On Sunday, Oct. 17th Team King came out in full force for the Montgomery County Democratic Party Fall 2021 Gala.

On Sunday Oct. 10th, John snapped a selfie while enjoying the Savor Bowie Fall Fest 2021.

On Saturday Oct. 11th, John had a hard-hitting discussion with some future voters about the need for increased investments in early childhood education.
