This week, one person was killed and seven more were wounded in a mass shooting at Grambling State University. It was the second deadly shooting at the Louisiana school in four days.

Just days later, three people were wounded when gunfire erupted in the entertainment district of downtown Des Moines, Iowa.

Earlier this month, it was Des Moines Washington, where shots rang out at the La Familia Sports Pub and Lounge. When it was over, three people were dead and another three were injured.

This is the daily toll of gun violence, John. More than 100 people are killed and twice as many are wounded every. single. day. We do not have to accept this. The Alliance was founded on the belief that gun violence IS preventable. But we know it will take all of us pitching in to end this epidemic.
