In a letter to President Biden—co-signed by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, and 15 Senators from the moderate and progressive wings of the party—Kirsten argued that we cannot recover from the pandemic without addressing the country’s caregiving crisis.

Let’s not forget: The United States remains the only industrialized country in the world without a national paid leave policy.
